For First Responders

  • Bloodborne Pathogens

    This course is designed for healthcare professionals, first responders, and others at risk of being exposed to bloodborne pathogens.  The course satisfies the requirements of OSHA regulation 29 CRS 1910.1030.  Coursework includes lectures, demonstrations, a course review and written examination.  Topics covered include:

    • Common types of infectious diseases carried in blood
    • Exposure control plans
    • Prevention procedures
    • Safe work practices
    • Vaccinations, and
    • Procedures to follow when exposed to bloodborne pathogens

    • Class runs from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM unless otherwise announced

For Contractors and Their Employees

  • Fall Protection

    This course is designed to provide safety instruction to employees and supervisors who might be exposed to fall hazards at the jobsite.  The course satisfies the requirements of CFR 29 1926.500 for fall protection training.  Upon completion of the course, students will recognize the hazards of falling and understand procedures that will minimize these hazards.  Topics covered include:

    • The nature of fall hazards in the work area
    • The correct procedures for erecting, maintaining, disassembling, and inspecting fall protection systems
    • The use and operation of guardrail systems, personal fall arrest systems, safety net systems, warning line systems, safety monitoring systems, controlled access zones, and other protections
    • The role of each employee in the safety monitoring system when this system is used
    • The limitations on the use of mechanical equipment during the performance of roofing work on low-sloped roofs
    • The correct procedures for the handling and storage of equipment and materials and the erection of overhead protection
    • The role of employees in fall protection plans, and
    • Applicable regulations and standards
